1995 World Series – Fox Sports Southeast, which I’m sure is only available regionally, has been showing the 1995 MLB World Series between the Atlanta Braves and Cleveland Indians. If the option is available to you, tonight’s game 6 is the one you want to watch.

Calhoun Magazine is a local publication that comes out six times a year in my hometown of 10,000 or so people. In the May/June edition they did a second round of the “Humans of Gordon” feature and wouldn’t you know it, I’m a human in Gordon County! Click the image above to open full size in a new window. That’s basically the story of how I became the pastor of Unity Baptist back in 2014.
Look at that picture again. Taken in November of 2018, I clocked in at just over 290 lbs. at that time. I am pleased to report that I have lost about 40 lbs. since then. I had blood work in March which showed a total cholesterol count of 178. My opthamologist told me on Thursday that he was surprised I’m not showing any signs of retinal detachment or early onset cataracts. He said that anyone as nearsighted as I am is at high risk of development those other problems. I will be getting bifocals this time but I expected as much.

Last week it was the Loch Ness Ladle. That was mostly for my daughter’s benefit. This t-shirt is for me. QR code incorporated into the design of a Borg cube. Very clever.

McShuttle – This pic was taken at McDonald’s on Whitlock Ave. in Marietta in July of 2014. I could tell by looking at it that this was a holdover from the 1980’s. The space shuttle program captured the imagination of of more than one generation. McShuttle, McNASA, pilot Ronald McDonald; nothing could be more quintessential McDonald’s than this. Just one year later the whole thing was demolished. They didn’t even build a new playground, they just added some outdoor seating. The real space shuttle program ended in 2011 so this was becoming a relic in more ways than one. Still, I’m glad I got to see it.

I didn’t know PB&J was exclusively an American thing. You can click here to read the full story on BuzzFeed but the language is not suited for kids of PB&J age. If these folks don’t know about the sandwiches then finding peanut butter and jelly swirled together in the same jar would probably cause heads to explode.

Turn off weather? Must be a new feature. I didn’t even know they could do that.

Enjoy your weekend. Hopefully every day is not the same for you. Mother’s Day is coming up in another week. Be creative, that’s one of our strengths right now.
