There have been a lot more basketball games on t.v. this week than usual. #NotGonnaGoogleThis. Welcome to the Satur-deja Vu. You may or may not have seen these headlines this week:
Pepsi + Peeps = Peepsi? Peeps get more hate at Easter than candy corn does at Halloween but that’s not stopping Pepsi from introducing a Peeps flavored variety. While the cans come in three different colors, just like Peeps themselves, the flavor is the same. And from what I’ve heard tastes exactly like the marshmallow Peeps. I will have to take their word for it. Your reviews are welcome in the comments.
Have you seen this image? This is a shipping container ship full of shipping containers stuck sideways in the Suez canal. They have been trying to free it since at least Wednesday as traffic backs up on both sides. You could see a spike in gas prices soon as oil tankers are unable to get through but this could also lead to the next wave of… toilet paper shortage. TP is made from wood pulp and the biggest exporter is Brazil. They cannot export their wood pulp right now because of the shortage of available shipping containers, which are held up on the mideast traffic jam waiting for the Suez canal to reopen. The truth is stranger than fiction. Believe it or not.

The nearest Krispy Kreme is a 20 minute drive from my house so I won’t be there every day.
Americans have spent $103 billion on their pets in the last year. We had nothing better to do than eat too much and order packages from Amazon, so it makes perfect sense that we spent more money than ever before on pet care products, toys and accessories. Many places offering pet grooming and other services were closed so the increased spending took place in spite of that fact.
No screaming allowed. Disneyland, Six Flags, Knotts Berry Farm and other theme parks will be allowed to reopen in the state of California but will be required to put up new signs banning shouting and screaming while on the rides. State health officials believe that shouting puts droplets into the air that may transmit disease. Apparently instead of “wear two masks” they are going with “don’t open your mouth.” Hey, it’s California.
This one is from a few years ago. Thank you Facebook memories. Huisache Baptist Church is in San Antonio, Texas. Bazaleel Cummings is still the senior pastor so it’s safe to assume the knife throwing demonstration was a success.
This week on The Master’s Table: In addition to the regular Happy Monday and iMonk Radio features I asked the question Did Jesus Call Peter Satan? and posted They Thought They Cancelled Jesus about the crucifixion and early church leaders.
Last week I posted He Cannot Save Himself once again, a Good Friday poem I have shared a few times, and promised a new poem about the resurrection would be ready in time for Easter. I have a complete draft but it needs a better title than “Easter Poem.” I look forward to share that on Sunday morning April 4th.
