Ghostbusters: Afterlife is the first movie I’ve gone to see in a theater since the end of summer 2019. I have waited a long time for this. Originally scheduled for a summer 2020 release, the date was pushed back at least twice. I was not disappointed. In the information age where things are leaked, often deliberately from someone inside, they did manage to keep a few things secret and surprise us on opening day. I will not spoil it and if you think it looks good in the trailers but can’t quite tell yes, it’s everything you hope it will be and then some. The movie is rated PG-13 so for the sake of family Christian heads up you might want to find the small children a sitter. There is less sexual innuendo than the original movie but they allow more salty language in everything than they used to.

Home Sweet Home Alone is available to Disney+ subscribers. This is something of a return to the original form but strictly speaking is not a remake. I will not spoil the plot but see the uniformed police officer in the scene above? That’s Buzz McCallister, Kevin’s older brother from the original film, played again by Devin Ratray. This movie is a sequel and for what’s it’s worth deserves better than the beating it is taking in critical reviews. It’s on Disney+ and there is no simultaneous release or theater screenings whatsoever. Because of the MCU and Star Wars franchise films there are probably Disney+ subscribers that do not have children in the home but the pandemic lockdown and school closures came at just the right time for the online streaming service to explode. If you are going to be at home with the kids over the next week of Thanksgiving break, or want to put all the kids (visiting cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren) in front of the t.v. for while, then Home Sweet Home Alone is a welcome addition to the Home Alone series. It’s perfect for what it is and who it’s for. And I watched it twice, once to see for myself and once with the family.

A former student shared this with me. I’ve seen it before but trying to reason through it causes me more issues than said student realizes. If you randomly pick one of four choices then you should have a 25% chance of answering a multiple choice question correctly. But two of the four choices are 25%. That means one of two things: you only have three actually choices so your chances become 33.33333333% which is not given so your chance is zero, or, since since there are four to choose from you have a 50% of chance of randomly being right. But if 50% is the correct answer and you pick C, you only have a 1 in 4 or 25% chance.

There is no right answer and I told him this was the kind of logic Captain Kirk used to talk computers to death. So then I made this:

Apparently the Falcons know. With the 4 – 6 win loss record, after a 25 – 0 defeat by the Patriots Thursday, the Falcons are in 4th place (last) in the NFC South. But you don’t have to tell them, they already know.

Leader is mentioned six times. Servant is only mentioned 885 times, they rounded up on those results. I didn’t expect to find the word conference but wanted to check before I claimed otherwise. It does in fact occur one time, Galatians 2:6, and Paul says it “added nothing to me.” I’m not saying we should or shouldn’t have leadership conferences but just looking at the meme, some people’s logic astounds me.

That is obviously a Christmas tree in front of the Gordon County Court House. All one has to do is look at the picture to come to that conclusion. I’m excited because this new tree they just put up this week replaces a post-modern art piece that gave the impression of a tree. It was lit up last night during a test run, the official Christmas tree lighting is not until tomorrow evening. That’s still before Thanksgiving but I’m just giddy we have a tree.

Facebook removed a meme that I posted back in 2019. If they hadn’t sent me this notification I would never have known. They also suggest I find support if I need help, or, really, if I needed help back in 2019 they are offering to help me find support 2 1/2 years later. Thanks, maybe?

In memory of Jax. He belonged to our daughter Johannah but I sometimes pose for pics with the doggos when no one else is home. In this pic we were scarf twins. (It’s not the same scarf. If you look close and know what to look for it’s not even the same pattern.) I don’t like cold weather but I do like wearing scarves and sweaters. That’s sounds conflicted so maybe I should tell people I like to stay warm.
