Uga X should be in the college football hall of fame. Listen, I get it. You have either reveled in all the UGA coverage, interviews and memes for the past six days or you are sick and tired of it already. The infographic above is probably one you have not seen already but I’m not going to fill the Deja Vu post with celebration pics and football stats. PETA has once again asked the school to retire again and use human mascots. UGA has responded that he’s not going anywhere. If we are talking about the ethical treatment of animals – and not just grabbing attention or pulling outlandish stunts – then you gotta admit that Uga lives like a king.

Lisa Marie Presley, shown above with her dad in 1969, has passed at the age of 54. She was at the Golden Globes on Sunday,with her mother Prescilla, to support Austin Butler who recently portrayed Elvis on the big screen. Two days after the event she collapsed at home and later passed away at the hospital after suffering a cardiac event. She was married four times, most famously to Michael Jackson who passed away in 2009 at the age of 50. Many dream of a life of fame and fortune but it often takes a toll on those who achieve it.

Speaking of fame and fortune though, Rihanna is the second best selling female recording artist of all time and will perform the Super Bowl halftime show Sunday, February 12th. She has not performed live in five years and has not released a new album since 2016; there was supposed to be another in 2019, then 2022, and now she may just be messing with fans that are reading into her Super Bowl appearance.

This could run your blood pressure up. What if the FTC were to ban the import of Apple Watch? An oximeter is a device the uses light waves to determine the amount of oxygen saturation in your blood. It’s that clip they attach to your index finger when taking vital signs. Apple Watch has been able to do the same thing since series 6 but a US court has ruled that Apple violated Masimi’s patent of the technology. Years ago Apple and Masimi collaborated on the idea of wearable tech. (Masimi also markets a watch that you’ve probably never heard of that also displays medical data.) Apple used those meeting to poach several Masimi employees, including their chief medical officer. The US court has determined infringement took place but since Apple Watch is made in China Masimi is asking the FTC to ban their import. We’ll see. Apple and Samsung have sued each other several times in North America and in Asia. Sometimes Apple wins, sometimes Samsung, but both continue making and selling phones with similar designs.

I guess that’s about it. I have a ton of UGA facts and figures but I promised not to over do it this week. Look on the bright side, I only watch two sports and Major League Baseball will not open for another couple of months.
