Thursday was the National Day of Prayer in the US and I wrote a post about all of the day’s activities that I took part in.
The National Day of Prayer is always the first Thursday in May and sometimes falls on May 4th, Star Wars Day. The meme above is just perfect for such an occasion.
Georgia finished this year’s NFL draft with 10 players taken, tied with Alabama. Between the two players the Eagles drafted from UGA last year, two this year, plus another they traded for, The Georgiadelphia Eagle Dawgs is perhaps the funny thing I’ve seen all week. And that’s on the Eagles official Twitter profile!
Okay that didn’t really happen.
Of course not. That pool is in-ground, a carpool should always be above ground.
All music was new once including those old hymns written by John Newton or Martin Luther. Have you ever tried singing the Psalms, in Hebrew? It’s really hard. As time goes by good music will endure and there are probably some new songs today that will having staying power and become old favorites some day. I think Graham’s response is excellent and I’ve always been something of a “to each his own” type guy. Same thing with preaching and Bible translations. My least favorite might be the reason someone else will be in heaven.
This is funny… but the reason it’s here and not in a Happy Monday post is so I could write commentary. If you break the supposed laws of physics all you have really done is proven the law was wrong in the first place. The physical properties of the universe are also ordained by God who sustains them, the “laws” describing them were written by man. And sometimes what we have written down requires revision.
Atlanta Braves history lesson – Atlanta Fulton County Stadium is shown up top. That was the home of the Braves from their move here from Milwaukee in 1966 until Olympic Stadium was built in 1996. Below left is Turner Field, 1997 – 2016. Below right was first SunTrust now Truist Park, 2017 – present. Fulton Co. Stadium was imploded when the Braves moved next door in 1997. Truist is up the road just inside Cobb County and the former Turner Field was converted for football and is home to the Georgia State Blue Panthers. I have been to three different MLB parks, all home to the Atlanta Braves at the time.
In the time it takes to paint stripes on a cow they could have just used bug spray. The stripes will probably last longer and the important thing is we learned something.
Can someone outside the US confirm? Most countries of the world use the metric system, there are a couple of places that use something besides metric and the Standard (once called Imperial) measurements we use. But is it true that ratchets are all 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch drives? I’ve been told that other countries encounter metric and standard size nuts and bolts so it just makes things easier for the same ratchets do operate both sets of sockets, just like we do here.
Alright I guess that’s it for this week. I’ll be preaching Jesus Ate Fish for Breakfast tomorrow morning from John 21 then we’ll take a break from our post-resurrection appearances of Jesus series for Mother’s Day next week. Does everybody get that? Mother’s Day is next week, Sunday May 14th. Then I’ll get in one more installment from Acts 1 before Pentecost Sunday. Be salt and light. Peace.

Apparently the Uga being drafted meme already appeared in Happy Monday. I’m going to acknowledge that mistake but not correct it. Nobody’s perfect and maybe not everybody saw Happy Monday. Hakuna Matata.
