If I attend a big conference with a celebrity speaker or meet an author or musician I usually write a post about it. I didn’t post for nine months so instead of writing one post for each I’m going to run everything together, hopefully in order.

Life Surge Atlanta – those are the best pics I could get from our seats. Life Surge is not exactly what I would call Health Wealth and Prosperity gospel but some of it was a little cringy, I admit. We didn’t sign up for any courses in buying real estate, I went to hear some of these speakers close to home. Up top is Jonathan Roumie from The Chosen, Willy Robertson and his daughter Sadie.
Night of Hope – AdventHealth had a volunteer work day then a concert in the evening. That’s Christian recording artist Brandon Heath. You might recognize his bit hit I’m Not Who I Was from a few years ago. This event was April 19th, only a day after Mandisa passed away. They had toured together and he had some emotional words to say about his friend.

Rome Prayer Breakfast – This was May 2nd on the National Day of Prayer. Lee Strobel was scheduled to come back this year but was recovering from a short hospital stay. Shown above is fellow author and Strobel’s partner in ministry Mark Mittelberg and Billy Neal Moore, who Strobel met while researching The Case for Christ many years years ago. Moore was on death row for murder when he came to Christ and began ministering to others.

UPDATE: Mel Blackaby. I kept thinking I was leaving someone out. This is pastor and author Mel Blackaby, son of Henry Blackaby. You may recognize the Blackaby name from Experiencing God and the other titles and merchandise that go with it. Mel Blackaby spoke to this group of pastors at First Baptist Cartersville in April.
