I know it’s a meme. Sometimes you can look at a meme, appreciate the humor, and then still say some serious things that relate to the topic. It doesn’t mean you didn’t get the joke; it just means the joke made you think.
Jesus did all sorts of things he wasn’t “supposed” to do. He associated with women, tax collectors, touched lepers, ate without washing his hands, FORGAVE people of their sins and picked grain on the Sabbath. He even healed on the Sabbath day! And then when they crucified him, rolled a stone in front of the tomb and set guards, that rascal didn’t even stay in there!!!
This one though – Here is another image I saw this week and thought with Easter coming up I would save it until just before Palm Sunday. It is a concise infographic of the events of Holy Week/ Passion Week. But then I read it carefully and oops… Jesus crucifixion on Saturday? I know people that claim Jesus had to be crucified earlier than Good Friday, sometimes as early as Wednesday, in order to spend three days and three nights in the tomb. But I don’t know any mainstream denomination or well known, well respected pastor or Bible teacher the claims Jesus was crucified on Saturday. Someone tried too hard to put one thing on each day. Black Saturday, or Holy Saturday, should be cold and dark and sad. Nothing happens. So I am only sharing this image to warn others; if you see this on social media, do not like or share.
After returning from a nine month stay aboard the International Space Station, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams have received a lot of attention this week. Wilmore used his 15 minutes of fame to publicly acknowledge his faith. His daughter, a sophomore in college, has ended her series of TikTok videos titled “My Dad’s Stuck in Space” since he is back on earth. She expects that a movie will be made – I have no doubt – and wants Hollywood to know she has some ideas.
That’s just a screenshot but have you seen video of dolphins welcoming the Space X capsule back to earth as it splashed down? This one is from NASA and plays for a minute and a half. Dolphins and space explorers have shared a common bond since Star Trek IV.
Happy Place – Reba McEntire has a new sitcom on NBC, Happy’s Place. The story revolves around her and a sister she didn’t know about running a grill and bar following their dad’s death. There are a couple of shows, this is one and George and Mandy’s First Marriage is another, that I kind of wish I was watching but it’s just not happening. I have seen two or three episodes of each but I’m just not planning my schedule around TV shows anymore. Maybe I’m a grown up now, I don’t know. Anyway… I have just learned the Rex Linn, shown above with Reba, was the high school principal on Young Sheldon. He now plays the cook on Happy’s Place. Reba and Rex first met on the set of The Gambler Returns in 1991 and were reunited when she did a few guest spots on Young Sheldon. They have been a real couple since 2020 so when you see them on Happy’s Place, and they start that “will they, won’t they” trope that has been done a thousand times, they are together in real life.
And finally…
I had to choose between the $1.50 3 Musketeers in slot 52 and the $1.75 one at #57. I entered each number so the digital display would give me the price and those are the correct prices for those selections. All the other candy bars in this machine are priced $1.75 so someone loaded overstock into the #52 slot. I think I made the right choice.
