Before anyone comes at me… theological truths are often nuanced. Memes are like soundbites of a moment in time and may not be able to carry the weight of the deeper truths. Jesus was not “always kind” to those he disagreed with. He was always kind to the oppressed, the poor, the widow, the beggar; but he also prescribed woe to the scribes and Pharisees and called them a brood of vipers. On at least one occasion (probably more) he cleansed the Temple of the people and activities that were defiling his Father’s house.
You and I are to treat others with kindness, turn the other cheek, and as much as possible live peaceable with others. So enjoy another cup of coffee then go be mild like sheep but wise as serpents. Have a Happy Monday.
