When the Read the Bible series started I knew it would be a little rough around the edges. The best way to fix it was to start and see how it went, then make adjustments. I started out recording the readings and the discussion on my phone and later downloaded recording and editing software. When I first starting making cuts and edits, I was just throwing those things away. Eventually I realized some of them were funny. AFV has been on television for over 35 years. I watched TV’s Bloopers and Practical Jokes before that. We laugh at failure, as long no one is (seriously) hurt.
So I started collecting some of the outtakes and making a blooper reel. A couple of funny ones got lost when I closed the program without saving the file. I bloopered the bloopers so those had a private audience in a very limited engagement. But here for your listening pleasure, if that’s what it is, are about a minute’s worth of flubs, outtakes and instances of me just being confused. For example, one that got lost was the description of Pharaoh’s dream; instead of saying “well fed” I inverted the words and said “wed fell.” These are all from Genesis, maybe we’ll release a blooper reel at the end of each book. I don’t know, tell me what you think.
