Pastor Shane Parrot of Heritage Baptist Church led one of the prayers at AdventHealth Gordon’s public gathering on the National Day of Prayer. As mentioned in Thursday morning’s Read the Bible podcast, I was at the Rome Area Prayer Breakfast to hear Eric Metaxas and this event in Calhoun at noon. Living the Christian life the right way involves a balance of boldness and meekness. Meeting together in a public place that is highly visible is a way to stand up for what we believe in but bowing in prayer as we ask God for anything is a confession that he can and we can’t.

Above is a post on one of the many different Facebook groups I follow. What strikes me, and maybe I’m just being pedantic, is that this person must have clicked yes to the Trinity question to get in the group just so he could then argue against it. He had to lie to get in, so now he wants us to learn the truth about scripture from a liar. There is a flaw in that logic.

I’m used to driving in traffic. According to one study in 2024, Atlanta ranked #1 on the list of Top 10 Cities You Should Not Drive In. But dodging kangaroos is not on the list of contributing factors. Sheila there was responsible for shutting down I-85 in Macon County, Alabama this week between Montgomery and Auburn. Shelia was tranquilized by her owner and yes, she is fine. Patrick Starr – seriously – runs a petting zoo and pumpkin farm but said that Shelia is a private pet. She escaped from her enclosure early one morning and headed straight for the interstate.

Didn’t the Eagles just win the Super Bowl? Yes they did. They have the most successful SEC team in the NFL.

The streak is now 37 days in a row but day 31 broke my previous record. Back in 2014 I took the 30 Days of Thanksgiving challenge and posted once each day for 30 days in the month of November.
