With the completion of the priestly garments, everything God commanded Moses to build has been finished. In chapter 40 they will put the tabernacle up and place everything where it goes and we will be finished reading the book of Exodus.
Exodus 39
From the blue, purple, and scarlet, they made garments to do service in the Holy Place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the LORD commanded Moses.
He made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
They hammered the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, and in the purple, and in the scarlet, and in the fine linen, with skillful work.
They made shoulder pieces for it, to couple it together: by the two edges it was coupled together.
And the skillfully woven waistband of the ephod that was on it, was of the same, according to the work; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen; as the LORD commanded Moses.
They also mounted the onyx stones enclosed in gold filigree settings, engraved as signets are engraved, with the names of the children of Israel.
He put them on the shoulders of the ephod, that they should be stones for a memorial to the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses.
And he made the breastplate of skillful work, like the ephod; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
It was square and they made the breastplate double: a span was the length thereof, and a span the breadth thereof, being doubled.
They set in it four rows of stones: the first row was a sardius, a topaz, and an emerald: this was the first row.
And the second row, a turquoise, a sapphire, and a diamond.
And the third row, a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst.
And the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper: they were enclosed in gold filigree.
The stones were according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet, every one with its name, according to the twelve tribes.
They made chains at the ends of the breastplate, of pure gold braided cord.
And they made two gold filigree settings, and two gold rings; and put the two rings in the each end of the breastplate.
They put the two braided chains of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.
And the two ends of the two braided chains they fastened in the two filigree settings, and put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod, in the front.
They made two rings of gold, and put them on the ends of the breastplate, on the border of it, which was on the inner edge of the ephod.
And they made two other golden rings, and put them on the underside of the ephod near the edge, toward the front of it, opposite the other coupling, above the waistband of the ephod.
Then they bound the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be above the woven waistband of the ephod, so that the breastplate would not come loose from the ephod; as the LORD commanded Moses.
He made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue.
And there was an opening in the top of it at the center, and around the opening a binding of woven work so that it does not tear.
And on the hems of the robe they made pomegranates of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen.
They made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates on the hem of the robe, all the way around between the pomegranates;
A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, round about the hem of the robe to minister in; as the LORD commanded Moses.
They made coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, and for his sons,
And a turban and ornate headbands of fine linen, and undergarments of fine twined linen,
And a sash of finely spun linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet; as the LORD commanded Moses.
They made the plate of pure gold, and wrote on it in writing, like to the engravings of a signet, Holy To The Lord.
And they tied it with a blue cord, to fasten it in front of the turban; as the LORD commanded Moses.
So all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the meeting was finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses.
And they brought the tabernacle to Moses, the tent, and all its furniture, clasps, planks, crossbars, posts and bases.
And the covering of rams’ skins dyed red, and the covering of badgers’ skins, and the veil of the covering,
The ark of the testimony, and its poles, and the mercy seat,
The table, and all the vessels of it, and the showbread,
The pure candlestick with its lamps with its lamps set and all the vessels, and the oil for light,
And the golden altar, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the tabernacle door,
The bronze altar, and its bronze grate, its poles and all its vessels, the bases and its stand;
The hangings of the court with its pillars and sockets, and the hanging for the court gate with its cords and pins, and all the vessels of the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of the meeting;
The woven garments to do service in the Holy Place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons’ garments, to serve as priests.
So the children of Israel made everything according to all that the LORD commanded Moses.
And Moses looked at all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded: and Moses blessed them.
