Read the Bible: Leviticus 6

A little bit of case law again but more instructions for the priests than anything else.

Leviticus 6

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying:

“If a person sins, and commits a trespass against the LORD, and lies to his neighbor concerning a deposit or security, or robbery, or defrauds his neighbor;

Or finds something that was lost, and lies about it, and swears falsely; if a man sins by doing any of these,

Then because he has sinned, and is guilty, he shall restore that which was taken by violence, or the thing gained by deceit, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,

Or all that about which he has sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add a fifth more to it, and give it to him who rightly owns it, on the day of his trespass offering.

He shall bring his trespass offering to the LORD, a ram without blemish out of the flock, by your estimation, for a trespass offering, to the priest:

And the priest shall make atonement for him before the LORD: and it shall be forgiven him for any thing of all that he has done that made him guilty.”

The LORD spake to Moses, saying:

“Command Aaron and his sons, saying ‘This is the law of the burnt offering: It is the burnt offering, because of the burning on the altar all night until the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be burning in it.

The priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen undergarment on his body, and take up the ashes which the fire has consumed with the burnt offering on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar.

And he shall take off his garments, and put on other clothes, and carry the ashes outside of the camp to a clean place.

The fire on the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings.

The fire shall be burning on the altar continually; it shall never go out.’

This is the law of the grain offering: the sons of Aaron shall offer it before the LORD, in front of the altar.

He shall take of it his handful, of the flour of the grain offering, and of the oil, and all the frankincense which is on the grain offering, and burn it on the altar for a pleasing aroma, the memorial of it to the LORD.

And the remainder of it Aaron and his sons shall eat: with unleavened bread it shall be eaten in the holy place; in the court of the tent of meeting they shall eat it.

It shall not be baked with leaven. I have given it to them for their portion of my offerings made by fire; it is most holy, as is the sin offering and the trespass offering.

All the males among the children of Aaron shall eat of it. It shall be a statute forever in your generations concerning the offerings of the LORD made by fire: every one that touches them shall be holy.”

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying:

This is the offering of Aaron and of his sons, which they shall offer to the LORD on the day when he is anointed; the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a perpetual grain offering, half of it in the morning, and half at night.

It shall be made in a pan with oil; and when it is baked, you shall bring it in: and the baked pieces of the grain offering you shall offer for a pleasing aroma to the LORD.

And the priest, one of Aaron’s sons who is anointed to succeed him, shall offer it: it is a statute forever to the LORD; it shall be wholly burnt.

Every grain offering for the priest shall be wholly burnt: it shall not be eaten.”

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying:

“Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying ‘This is the law of the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is killed the sin offering shall be killed before the LORD: it is most holy.

The priest that offereth it for sin shall eat it: in the holy place shall it be eaten, in the court of the tent of meeting.

Whatever touches the flesh of it shall be holy: and if the blood of it is sprinkled on any garment, you shall wash that garment in the holy place.

A clay pot in which the offering is boiled shall be broken: if it is boiled in a bronze vessel, it shall be both scoured and rinsed with water.

All the males among the priests shall eat of it: it is most holy.

And no sin offering shall be eaten if any of the blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement in the holy place: it shall be burned in the fire.
