Satur-deja Vu

It was Saturday, July 9th before we celebrated Independence Day and did all the things. Thanks again to our friends Justin and Marisa Henderson for inviting us out maybe for the third year in a row for family friendly grilling out and fireworks after dark. 30 years ago he was a bratty little kid in my Sunday School class. Now he has four kids and manages our local Tractor Supply.

Happy Monday

So on Saturday I said something like “we’ll see if Van Til comes in on Monday.” We’re giving Van Til the long weekend and I’m going to wish you all a Happy Monday myself. We’ll start with a couple of scripture ref’s and inspiration quotations as usual and then do a very red, white and blue post. Heat up the grill, it’s 4th of July Happy Monday!

For God and Country

The 4th of July falls on Sunday this year.  The comparisons between our liberty and freedom as Americans and the freedom found in Christ are easy to make, but we need to be careful.  I wish to present a sermon that is both patriotic and scriptural, but also fair and truthful.  The Declaration of Independence was written in 1776 – the Bible was not.
