We have finished our observance of Advent which ends each year on Christmas Day as we celebrate the birth of Christ. But our little church out in Plainville, GA does not have a Christmas Eve or Christmas Day service so the Christ candle in our wreath has not been lit. I’m going to preach one more sermon, God is in the Manger, tomorrow morning and we are going to light the center tower/Christ candle. No one is going to complain about coming to church and hearing too much about Jesus, right? If so that’s a person I need to have a long talk with anyway.
If you want to know how much God loves you, look in the manger.
If you want to know how much God hates sin, look at the cross.
Potential air travel delays in Boston and New York today as holiday travelers continue to return home. We had snow in the Great Lake states and New England and flooding/mudslides on the west coast. Meanwhile, Atlanta set a record high temp of 78 degrees on Christmas Eve (even though it hit 72, not a record, on Christmas Day). Our weather in the Deep South will return to normal for this time of year after the next front moves through on Monday.
Between church, my other job and Christmas events I really don’t know what’s going on in the world. I wanted to check in, looking forward to 2026. We thank God for all that he has done and look forward to what he does next!
