I haven’t listened to this one yet but Michael Spencer’s original post back in 2008 looked like this:

The memorial service for Hank Aaron was televised this week from Truist Park in Atlanta. The small numbers of family and friends allowed to attend gathered right in front of Aaron’s statue in the Monument Garden. The Commissioner of Baseball Rob Manfred noted that even if you took away Aaron’s 755 home runs he would still have over 3,000 hits. A FB friend pointed out this week that even without the 755 home runs he would still have more hits than Wade Boggs!

So many Bernie memes. Daniel Jepsen posted a slew of them Saturday morning, just in case you haven’t had enough yet. And just like that, nobody shared Baby Yoda memes anymore.
This is Happy Monday #411.

We’ve all seen them. Within hours of the inauguration Bernie Sanders memes had just about broken the internet. Jen Ellis, by the way, is a school teacher who knitted the mittens from repurposed sweaters and plastic bottles and gave them to Bernie back when he was on the campaign trail. She is honored that he is still wearing them but all the recent attention has been overwhelming.

I couldn’t find the kids behaving in church post that Michael mentions and he did not link it from his original podcast post. But the Reverend Billy and Andrew Peterson sites are still up. Included is a rank about how Christians do a good job promoting Christianity, or a version of such, but poorly conform to Christ’s image.
Sidebar: Michael often apologizes for construction sounds outside or noises his animals make but I never hear any of those. This podcast has some sort of running water in the background the whole time but he doesn’t seem to notice.

A notable distinction he never wanted: Jim Gilligan was the winner of the last episode of Jeopardy hosted by Alex Trebek and the returning champ on the first show hosted by Ken Jennings. Katie Couric, Mayim Bialik and Bill Whitaker are slated to appear as guest hosts and more will be announced later. A permanent replacement for Trebek has not been announced. Each guest host serves a two week stint and the cumulative total of winner takes during that two week period is donated to a charity of the guest host’s choosing.

You will immediately notice the music is a little different this week. The original post had a comment from a “sometimes reader” that liked it better than the usual hard rock/ metal sounding bumper music. Shoutout to the BHT’s magic tail chasing wonderdog, the inimitable, infamous Van Til.
What are God’s purposes in the current financial crisis? You may recall banks and the auto industry in particular getting federal bailouts, along with some serious restructuring of both.
The Confessing Evangelical articles are no longer available (it was 2008) but the Catholic News Agency post about the Apostle Paul is still up.
